ReelTime Easter Eggs

I was only involved with ReelTime at the very beginning and at the very end of the project. Still, I was promised that if I wrote code for ReelTime, my name would be added to the credits on the opening splash screen. But is it there? No-ooh!

So, like any good programmer, I made my own credits. It's a lot of work, but here's what you have to do to find them in Premiere 4.2 and ReelTime 1.0:

• Obtain a perfectly black bitmap, and import it into Premiere. Add it to the S1 Track.
• Add another bitmap to the S1 Track elsewhere.
• Right Click on the black bitmap, and select the Transparency dialog.

• Select Chroma for the Key Type.
• Set Similarity to 24, and click "OK" to close the Transparency dialog.
• Right Click on the other bitmap, and select the Transparency dialog.
• Select Chroma for the Key Type.
• Click on "OK" to close the Transparency dialog.
• Finally, right click on the black bitmap and select the Transparency dialog again.

If you did everything just right, instead of keying the black bitmap that you expect, it's keying a rainbow pattern with my name in front. You can play with the chroma key settings to manipulate the keying wedge. To change the keyed-out hue of the rainbow, you have to use the color-picker dialog at the top of the Color window.

I hope they don't forget me on my next project.... :-)
